  2. Both are corrupt and have some past dirty baggage. Currently CJ is more dangerous for justice and democracy. Because he already proved with actions and decisions that he is totally partial, politicized against present government and Zardari.

  3. Any one who wants fair treatment from Courts should come with fair hands.
It is responsibility of courts to penalize Zardari and other corrupted people as much as possible.

Equal degree of shame is deserved on the politicians who supported them in the lawyers or liars movement.

Judges and lawyers have always been sold out stuff. What don't they deliver what they promised in their movement? They simply cheated the nation with the help of wicked politicians.

    HF,

Agreed that lawyers movement hasn't bore the fruits it promised.

But what u wanted in 2007 to happen? Should a general be allowed to go ahead with sacking of judges ?

This is the perfect post and replies showing how biased and idiotic pkpolitics.com is becoming.

Only an idiot, and only bigger idiots would put CJ in the same sentence as Zardari.

CJ is not known as Mr 10% and a serving British PM was asked to count his fingers after a handshake with Mr Zardari. Surely you remember all that. The CJ is a shark with a severe tooth ache and you are expecting him to bite without helping him get better and stronger first. SC works ONLY when its judgements are enforced fully by the government irrespective of whether they are in favour or against the government. This is the norm in civilised societies.

My point is as follows. There is a huge mafia in operation in Pakistan that is called 'A-Different-Law-For-Me' Mafia. This means that most of the people who need to be held accountable can never be held accountable because the Mafia makes sure that they are never subject the to normal laws of the land.

What is not surprising is the number of allegations of corrupt and unlawful behaviour against politicians and influential figures but what is absolutely inexplicably astonishing is that virtually NO rich and infamous politicians has every served a criminal sentence in jail. There has been of course those who have had a nice air-conditioned cell in jail paid for by us, because they were 'political prisoners.' So even are jails are not really jails for some.

Fortunately or unfortunatley , all the judges and courts get their teeth in civlian setups.

Just to give an example , there were around 65 cases against fake degrees in 2002 but no case was decided.
And what happened now , is infront of us.

When courts / judges do selective justice, its no more justice then.

Hope and pray that this situation changes ASAP.

The state of judicial affairs has got little to do with fortune or misfortune. The state of judiciary has got nothing to do with divine will or luck. It has everything to do with abject failure of the people we have sent to parliament. This literally means all of them.

No one in their right mind will say that judicial judgement are respected or obeyed in Pakistan. The reason is quite simple, the exceptions we expect everyday come to us in the form of judicial exceptions. We as a nation, does not have the mindset to follow or obey rules but we expect court judgement to be enforced? Why?

You are right to point out the case of fake degree holders sitting in the parliament. There is an expectation that everything must be done by the SC, why is that? If the Government and Parliament were serious, they would have expelled all the fake degree holders themselves but that did not happen.

Had some selective judgements been enforced, we would now have a case for demanding that ALL judgements be enforced.

    It's Catch 22.

I will NOT be putting my hands together with you in your prayers because that is a tried, tested and failed method of change. I will on the other hand act to change the destiny of my country.

As a nation, we need to stop praying and start acting.

If the Supreme Court of Pakistan is allowed to work properly then all the lower courts will fall in line.

    stingingnettle,

That represents your arrogance and hatred for the masses of pakistan that they have elected wrong representatiaves and u know the best.

Gentleman , whoever , the masses elect should be & is a respectable person.

U r speaking of judiciary , what was IMC doing from 2000 to 2007 till the time his own job was at stake ? Depite that , we bloody civilians stood up because we thought that something against law was happening and it was after 30 long years (after 1977) , the nation came on the street.

Was it only for the restoration of IMC or exteniton of Mr.Justice Ramday or for continution of Mr.Justice Sharif as chieif justice lahore high court ? In Ch.Shujjat's language

'it has become veranda of aunt's house'. Do u know that how Al-Jehad trust case has been grossly violated by CJ in appointment of judges to high courts and supreme court ?

Sir , i would quote two persons.

    a) Kuffur kaa nizam chal sakta haai , zulm kaa nahi.

    b) During second world war , Churchil said , "Is Old beally working ? If yes, no power in the world can overcome british empire.

Sir, Thats the importance of legal system.

These judges remain silent when UNIFORMED ANGELS are around.

Why not CJ calls the persons who issued NRO and who negotiated NRO???

"That represents your arrogance and hatred for the masses of pakistan that they have elected wrong representatiaves and u know the best."

You have galloped away on your high horse without reading or understanding what I wrote. Here I make one last attempt.

    I wrote;

"It has everything to do with abject failure of the people we have sent to parliament."

Notice I am talking about the failure of our parliamentarians and NOT the people who elected them; So in other words if we have been deceived, then we should send all of these crooks packing in the next elections. What the good people giveth, they taketh away, if you like. The state of affairs in Pakistan at the moment, especially the conditions under which ordinary Pakistanis are living, surely are indication that something is VERY VERY rotten in the state of Pakistan. I hope you can agree on this. This is points to an abject failure of the WE (notice I use 'WE') have sent to rule us.

There are lots of thing that the judiciary, the military and our so called elected leaders should have been doing in the last 60 years and if you keep harking back to things that were not done, then you will run the risk of NEVER doing the things we desperately need to DO.

Tried and tested failures must not be sent back to parliament if you want a heavenly, fair, and functioning judicial system.

It's as simple as that. For now the SC you have is the SC you have. So give it a chance.

I have a suspicion that you will continue to demand a miserable life for all under the system of exception ie no law for the rich but a hugely faulty legal system for the rest. Unless, you change your mentality first, nothing is about to change.

The movement to restore judiciary has not come to an end because of betrayal or fear of the military, it has come to a halt because you are not demanding the implementation of SC judgements. SC does not have an enforcement force attached to to. It's the job of the Government.

I have no more to say to you.

    Gentleman , i repeat.

Whoever masses elect is a respectable and must be respected. No one has the right to malign the elected reprs of masses. Thats an insult of masses & their wisdom.

About the failure of parliamentarians , let the masses decide in next election. Who has decided that they have failed ? If we continue with adventures like IJI , PIF , MMA, Q-Leauge and prematurely ending civilian setups, u can't say that civilian setups have failed to deliver. If masses are allowed , they are wise enough to make a decision. Let them decide in due course of process.

BB first tenure ended in 20 months , NS 30 months , BB second 37 months , NS again 30 months. When we are able to digest Zia & mush for 8/9 years alone and our honourable judiciary gives verdict like it did in Nusrat Bhutto Case or Zafar Ali Shah case , legitimizing the UNIFOMED ANGELS and giving them infinte powers , then why we call civlians fail ?

But , i m pretty sure that all of my words would fall on deaf ears because of your hatred for masses.
