    Soft on militancy?
    Dawn Editorial

Monday's suicide bombing in Peshawar’s Qissa Khwani bazaar was an outrageous suicide attack that left some two dozen people dead and many more injured. The victims were mostly Jamaat-i-Islami supporters attending a rally.
It is still not certain whether the target was the JI rally or a police contingent guarding it. Nevertheless, what is clear is the party’s flawed logic, for it failed to utter a single word of condemnation against the bomber, his handlers or even those orchestrating the violence.........

  2. Al Qaeda is getting funds in Pakistan through money laundering which is done through charity accounts. The people who do the money laundering charge a percentage. Everyone goes home happy at night. A dog does not bite the hand that feeds it.

Our beloved country has been unfortunately a battle ground of different foreign powers. In the early years after 1947, the soviets began to develop and promote communist lobbies in Pakistan. The Americans began to encounter their competition in global influence by supporting the political religious organizations in Pakistan.

The Soviet influx in Afghanistan in 1978 later initiated a war which provided golden opportunities to the religious political organizations to attain their materialistic goals. Heavy foreign funding of 60 billion dollars and heavy blood shed of innocent Muslims in the name of Jihad continued for 8 years. The USSR collapsed finally.

Meanwhile different other foreign elements like Iran and Saudi Arabia also began to use Pakistan as their battle ground. In our culture, there is no Sunni Shia dispute. It is indeed Irani and Saudi dispute which is carried out on the Pakistani soil and blood.

We need to admit this bitter fact that our people sold their souls to the foreign powers.

JI and JUI are strong parties although they are corrupt. PTI stands no where. It is just a one man party.
