Some benefit of Zardari being Shia :)
Why does he have to look at the cameramen and not the person he is shaking hand with?

@Salam
"Why does he have to look at the cameramen and not the person he is shaking hand with?"
What is most important for Zardari? Camera=his media campaign?....No matter what. This man will always remain unpopular in the masses, and for good reasons!
Btw: Maybe we should start highlighting his "tours" to Pakistan instead of numerous tours to foreign countries :)
US is real enemy of Pakistan: Leader
Sat Jul 16, 2011
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei (R) and Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari held a meeting in Tehran on July 16.Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the United States is the real enemy of the national unity of Pakistan.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in Tehran on Saturday.
The Leader stated that the West, and particularly the United States, is the main adversary of the Pakistani people.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the religious and cultural affinities shared by Iran and Pakistan and lauded the Pakistani people's long history of resistance.
The Leader also expressed hope that God would help the Pakistani nation rid themselves of their enemies as soon as possible.
The Pakistani president called for the expansion of relations between Tehran and Islamabad.
Earlier in the day, Zardari held a meeting with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, where the two called for the strengthening of bilateral ties in all spheres, especially in the economic and energy sectors.
Zardari also proposed that financial transactions between Iran and Pakistan be conducted in the two countries' currencies rather than the US dollar, saying this would help decrease smuggling and improve trade ties.

(Well, you could have knocked me down with a feather! Zardari of all persons suggesting something which will make Pakistan gallop forward economically, namely a trading in local currency deal with Iran. This is really the first time I've heard him say anything even remotely intelligent.)
@MG sb,
"This is really the first time I've heard him say anything even remotely intelligent.)"
For these fellas there is a long way (maybe never ending road) from "say" to carrying out what they say.
I agree Mirza Ghalib, If Pakistan have this kind of setup with Iran and can purchase/pay oil and gas bill in PKR... it would be one of the best thing..
Zardari is a Sindhi Baluch and as far as I know their arent any Shias in Baluch ethnicity.....Although Bhutto Family was Shia and BB's brother was devoted one as well but he got lot of Animosity with Zardari so I dont think Zardari is Shia.
his father funeral prayer offered inside Data Darbar Mosque on the plea that according to Sunni school of thought, a funeral prayer in absentia could not be held in a mosque.

Scandinavian, I didn't say it was a done deal. What I meant was that Zardari should even mention such a possibility took me aback. Usually we've never heard him utter anythng but inanities. Not to worry, one intelligent statement will not make him re-electable for all that. The winner of the forthcoming election bears quite another name.
@MG sb,
No worry, I know you cannot stand on the wrong side of the fence. We are brothers in more than one sense :)
Zardari is trying to cut a deal with iran to get cheap oil and gas.
US has so far been resisting the idea and saudia has refused to provide any assistance.
Zardari,s confidant rehman malik and farooq naik have visited iran multiple times in past one year or so. If iam not mistaken this is also zardari,s second visit in one year. I have a feeling zardari will make a breaking news announcement of an energy deal with iran just before election that will probably take care of pakistan.s energy needs in mid and short term.
What worries me a little is iran will then want some political influence in pakistan and will dream of making some hezbollah type proxies. Although i doubt something like this can ever happen in the presence of establishment which might oppose this energy deal. Howeve, zardari has come this farand such progress can not be made without establishment,s tacit approval. In the end, the benefits of this deal largely outweighs any side effects.
Salam, such handshakes are made in front of media cameras and is a media event and the hand shakers do usually look in the camera.
Few other pic of regarding body language of Mr President
He has worn Sindhi cap again.
Google images on president's visits to Iran.
Scandinavian, you said it absolutely. We are, indeed, that.
bsoabaid, You seem to have an obsession with Iran and Hezbollah and I don't know what else. Forget it, man. Iran has everything to gain from a stable Pakistan and much to lose if destability continues in this country.
Every time he has something in his head, he use sindhi cap. Hope, he is not there to hide his money.
@msyedh.- you are right he has always some thing in his haed, but he can not make fool Ahmed Nijadi,to achive his 10 to 100 percent in any dewal, because Nijadi small in size, but is much more cleaver than this zeradri, decoit.

yaar yeh Khamanei se oss kee beti kaa rishta tou mangnay gaya nahi hogaa.
budd se buddnaam bura.
"Zardari chor, Shareef chor, system kharab, iss liyay mein apni file clerk kee job sahee se nahi karr pata." (yeh kehnaa thaa aik sarkaari mulazim kaa)
aksarr logoo ke yeh sooch hai kay zardari aur shareef chor hein iss liyay woh iran aur saudia oil wells se raat kay andhairay mein oil chori karnay jaatay hein aur subah ko mill jull kay lahore aur karachi kee market mein bech daytay hein.
bhai jaan chor hoon yaa uchakkay, ghair mulki dooroo pay chanay baychnay nahi jaatay.
sahab, zaati aur mohallay kee politics aur bain-ul-aqwami politics mein farq hotaa hai.
baat shia sunni kee nahi policies kee hoti hein.
NS kee saudia se dosti establishment aur saudia kay puranay talluqaat kee binaa pay hai. zaahir hai NS saudia ko naraz karnay kaa nahi soch saktay.
laikin strategic situation kay mutabiq Pakistan aur Iran kay relations honaa zaroori hein kion kay strategically Pakistan aur Iran kay talluqaat kee noyyat Pakistan - India talluqaat se bhi badtarr hai. Pakistan aur Iran kay conflicting goals hein. iss liyay iss dushmani ko kisi tarah se kamm karna zaroori hai.
kabhi socha Hammas kee Iran se kion dosti hai?
waisay agar socha jaey tou aap kay usool kay mutabiq Venezuella aur US mein pakki dosti hoti.
Iran aur amreeka have been strategic partners in Iraq and Afghanistan. No one denies that but this partnership is due to strategic convergence of their goals and is established on a case-to-case basis. I dont think that due to this strategic allaince aap Iran ko amreeki ghulam aur saaray ma'mlay ko topi drama qaraar day dein.
Amreeki ghulami and sab chor hein is over simplification of matters.
I still think Zardari's current visit was based on energy problems. Look at his delegation which only included power minister and oil and natural resources minister.
They might also have discussed Amreekan exit strategy and post-amreeka Afghanista. This is another very important matter to discuss between Pakistan and Iran because as I said both countries have conflicting goals in this area and it is important to discuss and find less hostile solutions.
Salam sahab,
lejeay, Shahid Masood ne bhi meri wali baat keh dee.

iss hee liyay kehta hoon, sab chor hein aur amreeki ghulam hein kee zehniatt se nikalna hogaa takay baat aur surat-e-haal kuch samajh aasakay.
Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Abdul Aziz Ibrahim Al-Ghadeer met with President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday, a day ahead of the president’s visit to Iran.
While an official statement only said that the ambassador discussed bilateral relations and regional affairs, the timing of the visit is made significant by the fact that it comes just ahead of the president’s trip to Tehran on Saturday (today).
Relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia have been strained since the 1979 Iranian revolution and have taken a turn for the worse during the recent political upheaval in the Middle East. Iran has fully supported the uprising against Bahrain’s monarch while Saudi Arabia has been concerned by the instability in its neighbourhood.
Saudi Arabia has, in the past, conveyed its concerns to Pakistan when it felt that Islamabad was drifting too close to Tehran. In recent weeks, President Zardari has quietly ignored such protests, attending an anti-terrorism summit in Tehran despite Saudi objections.
Friday’s meeting was also attended by Interior Minister Rehman Malik, who had been sent by the president to Riyadh last time where the Saudis expressed reservations about the ties between Islamabad and Tehran.
