Gen Zia strived to clean PPP from the country, he used every means, media at that time, beaurucracy, he even utilized fake islam, he terrorized jiayalas with the force of police and army any means what you could think of. BUT the result

You have seen when Benazir came back to pakistan, millions come out and welcome the daughter of their great leader and then she won the first election after that even with the strong opposition of establishment.

But now zardari is gonna finish and clean PPP from pakistan and i see a lot of potential in him. Look at his advisors, sherry rehman, rehman malik, and hussain haqqani. Where ar the brains of PPP and why he is gathering all dumbs around him. he is trying his best to make one more Q-league with the name of PPP

I kind of agree with you; if he doesn\'t become part of Judge restoration that revenge of history will be bitter. Let me put down some points:
1. I think Zardari is thinking that his poltiical weight is equal to Benazir which isn\'t.
2. Unelected leadership of the party like Malik and Haqqani aren\'t like by old gurds of the party. It will create muted rift in the party, these silent members will wait for right time to act and bring internal change of leadership.
3. Political damage to PPP will be enormeous.
4. Zardari is scared, it is not his strategy it is fear that is dictating present state of mind. Present establishement, Mush, insiders and external forces successfully cultivated the the fear in the minds of AZ that any attempt to restore Judge will be resisted with full force.
5. Zardari isn\'t looking beyond his decision, or I would rather say non-decicion. He can\'t see full picture.
6. Zardari couldn\'t see that his deception to people of Paksitan will create a movement against him and all the guns which are at present pointing towards Mush will move towrds him. Here are the groups that would re-launch a movement for Judiciary.
IK, Qazi, Achanzai and rest of APDM
Lawyers
Civil Society
Media
PML(N)
Students and young professionals.

7. Zardari doesn\'t realise that these same people or pressure groups actually mellowed down might of fascist Mush. They actually created the path for return of BB and NS.
8. Zardari must quit the rhetoric that PPP gave utmost sacrifice for democracy in Pakistan. If he respect the sacrifices of ZAB Shaheed who didn\'t compromised and laid down his life and BB Shaheed who break the back hand deal with Mushy. That made her a target. And thousands of unsung Jiyalas who laid their lives, spent time in Jail and torture camp. This is a time to give ultimate sacrifise. This is conclusion chapter in the 40 year hiastory of PPP, if he act according to the wishes of idelogical elements and PPP workers then he will be their hero. Otherwise a mere disagrace.
9. Zardari must also undestand that mere sugarcoated restoration won\'t fool public. People are smart.

@ My dear Rafi,
I agree to your analysis.
Going against the popular will of the people could damage the whole structure of the PPP, when Pakistan is almost out of any Internationally recognized leader to keep such a big party united..
I understand (late) BB was the last with a caliber to represent Pakistan effectively at the World political forum.
The existing 40-50 leaders, could be recognized as local and regional social workers.

PPP has to be divided into many pieces...
what Zardari is trying hard for ...
Amin Fahim or Aitizaz shud lead a Genuine PPP ....
at the end of the day ...
Zardari shud be left alone with his 2 numbree loyals...like Rehman Malik and Sherry Rehman .....
out of two...with Sherry he can marry ...
i dono...what he can do with a Used Rehman Malik???????????????????

I am also a PPP supporter and i want PPP to survive. If late Ms Bhutto would be here, she would have used this situation to give boom to PPP but now dumb nawaz sharif is cashing the situation and zardari is even more dumb who is destrying PPP in such a situation.

Good leaders are looking for such situation when people are motivated, its really very hard to motivate people and if you find already motivated people on some issue just go and cash that. But zardari instead of cashing killing PPP

Not really,

PPP was finished in 1997, down to a few seats. Then they got majority in 2002 and 2008.

PMLN got a few seats in 2002 after a heavy mandate of 2/3rd majority in 1998, and, then they got 90 seats in 2008.

Politics is a game of ups and downs. Things change with time, issues change with time.

But, I think it is quite likely the PPP is broken into segments without a Bhutto leading it.

PPP is not a party of individuals it represent letftist and secular idealogy. Workers of this party are hard core workers who believe in this ideology. Bhutto gfmily laid their lives for this ideology and party workers respectfully accepted Zaqrdari as their Chariman. Especially those workers who laid down their lives for \'Independence and Restoration of Judiciary\' on May 12th last year demand why party asked for their blood and why personal interest of Zardari overtaken interest of the party.

PPP was not orginally secular, it represented Islamic socialism.
Their 3 pillars were: Democracy, Islam and Socialism

ZA Bhutto often used to talk about Islam and a union of the Muslim countries.
His 1973 constituition says that Pakistan has Islamic laws as its official law.
He was the hypocrite who was an alcohol and used to gamble but he outlawed alcohol and gambling in Pakistan.

BB turned PPP away from socialism and made it a secular party. (thankfully)

The jiyalas have always been dying blindly for their leaders. BB wasnt going to restore the judges either, She was bound by the same agreement that is binding Zardari.

I dont think so that BB would have this stance towards judiciary. BB was having a great political mind and this was reflected when she came back to pakistan. She totally changed herself after coming back to pakistan. She was wrongly told about the situation of Pakistan by the people like rehman malik but once she arrived in pakistan, she saw all the ground facts and she changed her politics very quickly adapting to the conditions very wisely and thats what she signalled in her meeting with Pontay **** and i am almost sure that this was the reason why USA killed her.

stop living in lalaland, Benazir could sell much easily what Zardari is trying to sell, she commanded absolute control over her party and could take them anywhere. She also didnt care much about public opinion as this was evident by her statements in favor of Lal Masjid operation, the AQ Khan interrogation statement. Shiekh Rasheed said that Benazir told him once that if public opinion mattered Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto would never be hung.

zardari got deal with america and musharaf thats why he is in power -- benazir came pakistan after dealing but when she came back she relised it would be hard to stand against public opinion -- so she was killed -- zardari got best chance to control party and all senior leaders amin fahim and naheed khan right hand of benazir -- where are they --- amin fahim agreed about dealing with musharaf and naheed khan told in interview --- she doenot know about will -- which granted zardari to be chairman of pppp -- time to know -- shame on us most corrupt perosn is controlling our country -- worst for us

Don't worry. None of the parties have worked for the welfare of state or people & they are still there. People are waiting for an alteranative option & they are ready for change but electability is their main concern, once they would be able to found someone electable, all of the current or past major political forces would be history.

So block this message from spreading & if the govt. used force to block it, people would get rally around that new political force, which ofcourse needs some kinna planning.

last week i was watching "SARKAR RAJ" and one line from SARKAR ( Amitabh bachon) shocked me... he said some thing like this in last

" QATAL ( killing ) kerna crime hey or time per QATAL kerna RAJNITI ( leadership / king maker)"

now figure it out who has leadership ( king maker) power in Pakistan.

The person like AZ can give Pakistani nation a vision ? Can he be the leader of nation ? The answer is NO NOWAY. He is not a such capable person to do so. The problem of Pakistan are the People of Pakistan... How elect such people. 99.999 % politicos are corrupt, Army is not educated to run the country. Then what is required """ INKALAB """ How will bring this ? we as a nation.

Pakistan and Pakistanis have experienced several Internal INQILABS, since 1947.
No Internal INQILAB could produce any honest politician or educated Military man to make change for the better.

Frustrated Pakistanis are looking and asking for another INQILAB. Very unfortunate.
